Elemental Grains

Grains forms an imagined Timescape, alluding to the celestial and cellular. This work is an extension of my mind and body, firmly rooted in the physical, a meditation of process and on time. It’s through the action of the hand that I attempt to find order, a quietness, a rhythm, a very human rhythm which allows you me slow down. This slowness allows for a greater perception of that moment, and it teaches patience, focus.

These physical, tactile, and repetitive modes of creation allow us the time see, they facilitate thought and transport me to a different space.

As I make, I reveal. As I make, the world drops away, replaced by an imagined world, rendered onto the surface, the materials become a site of consciousness, of being.
