Satellite Series - White Circle on Black IV

£2,350.00

Fields of activity, a stellar landscape, stitch as a microcosm.

In this series of works, I explore the profound connection between the cosmos and our human experience through a captivating use of minimal yet evocative imagery. The pieces, with their moon-like appearance, feature delicate, white stitches scattered across a dark wool background. The stark contrast between the white thread and the black wool not only evokes the appearance of the night sky but also alludes to celestial bodies—planets, stars, and moons—dotting the vast, dark expanse of space. These tiny, intricate stitches mimic the way distant stars appear to the naked eye, a visual metaphor for the vastness of space and the tiny, almost imperceptible marks we make in our search for meaning in the universe.
The moon-like quality of the work reminds us that we are part of something larger, and that through small, deliberate acts—much like the stitching—we can regain perspective and find our way back to a sense of order and connection in a seemingly chaotic world.
